Last night's meeting was somewhat short (which is sometimes a good thing).  I'll be sending an OperOffice document to the ELUG website later this month.  Of the sources I used to base my findings on PostgreSQL/MySQL comparisons, here is the one I consider the most comprehensive and least biased:

As mentioned at the meeting, MySQL is partnering with SAP, to offer a mid/heavyweight database formerly called SAP now rebranded as MaxDB.  >From its timeline mentioned on the link below, it looks to be ready to launch quite soon:

On a side note, we were talking about the HalfLife 2 code leaked to the Internet.  According to Vivendi, it isn't enough to get the game running.

For those that didn't make it to the meeting, we're thinking of adding a book review to the regular Linux meetings (that I was going to call ('Lead to Gold').  For 5-10 minutes per meeting, 1-2 books can be commented on.  The idea is to increase awareness of which books on a given topic are outstanding (worth their weight in gold), mediocre, or just plain awful (your stomach feels like lead after reading it).  If you have some on-topic or close-to-topic books that are worth mentioning, bring them to the next meeting and say a few words of praise or condemnation.
